About Me

Hello! Welcome to my website.

My name is Olivia Alexander, and I'm a teacher in Chicago, Illinois. In addition to delivering special education services to diverse learners in my Algebra II classroom, I support my school's journalism club, affectionately named Intrinsic Memories.

In June 2024, I earned my bachelor's degree in Journalism and American Studies with a minor in Religious Studies from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, Media, and Integrated Marketing Communications. I'm passionate about covering some of our deepest American issues, including educational inequality and religious intolerance.

Originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, I carry with me a love for barbecue, blues, and the outdoors. My upbringing in Little Rock informs everything I do today.

"Writing is an extreme privilege, but it's also a gift. It's a gift to yourself, and it's a gift of giving a story to someone."
